CORAL GABLES, FL – The University of Miami’s Frost School of Music and WDNA 88.9 will host a benefit concert on Friday, March 11, at 8 p.m. at the Maurice Gusman Concert Hall. The performance will feature UM’s Concert Jazz Band, conducted by Dante Luciani, performing the compositions and arrangements of Alan Baylock. One of the finest writers on the jazz scene today, Alan Baylock's music has been called, "some of the best contemporary big-band writing ever." He is the Chief Arranger for the renowned "Airmen of Note" jazz ensemble of the United States Air Force Band in Washington D.C. and is in demand as a freelance composer, arranger, instrumentalist, clinician, and adjudicator, and leads the Alan Baylock Jazz Orchestra.
