JON SECADA SHAKES UP FESTIVAL MIAMI WITH A NIGHT OF JAZZ AND LATIN MUSIC

Saturday, October 15 at 8 p.m.

Coral Gables, FL – Festival Miami welcomes home Frost School of Music alumnus and two-time Grammy winning singing and songwriting sensation Jon Secada! Jon will be joined by the highly acclaimed Jazz Vocal I Ensemble, directed by Larry Lapin, for an evening of jazz and Latin music. The concert is on Saturday, October 15 at 8 p.m. and reserved seating tickets are $25 Adult/$20 Senior/$10 Student.

With career album sales of more than 20 million units worldwide, Jon Secada has won a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album and Best Latin Pop Performance. He has also written and/or produced hits for Ricky Martin (She’s All I Ever Had) and Jennifer Lopez (Baila.)

Jon emigrated from Cuba to Miami in 1971 at the age of 9. He received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Jazz Vocal Performance at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music and also created the Jon Secada Music Scholarship at the University. Jon returns to the classroom for a special master class on October _____ at _____ when he speaks to a class of Jazz Vocal I students on (vocal performance? music industry?). This class will be held at the Victor E. Clarke Recital Hall, in the L. Austin Weeks Center for Recording and Performance located on University of Miami campus in Coral Gables.
