EVENING OF HEARTSONGS TO BENEFIT
THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION
Sunday, February 27, 2005 4 p.m.
Philip and Patricia Frost School of Music
1314 Miller Road
CORAL GABLES – The Civic Chorale of Greater Miami and The American Heart Association join forces in the culminating event of February’s “Go Red for Women” campaign. The Chorale, more than 100-voices strong, will present a concert of love-themed music, ranging in style from early Renaissance to contemporary and will include a musical tribute to Cole Porter. Well known entertainer and UM professor, Kimberly Daniels-DeAcha, will be featured.
A special fundraiser, “Gifts from the Heart” will allow concert attendees to purchase a potted flower in honor or memory of someone who has been affected by heart disease. The flowers, available for $25, will be used to decorate the stage during the concert, and can be taken home after the concert by the contributors.
Tickets for this concert are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for students. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the American Heart Association. Call 305-238-1611 or civicchorale.music@miami.edu for tickets and further information.
Under the direction of Dr. Robert Gower and Dr. Lee Kjelson, the Civic Chorale of Greater Miami has been a vital part of the University of Miami and the South Florida musical community since 1970. The group is comprised of students and adult members of the community who share a love for singing and musical excellence.
