LAUNCH OF NEW LOGO CAPS BANNER YEAR FOR UM’S FROST SCHOOL OF MUSIC
CORAL GABLES, FL – What a difference a year makes! Since the announcement of philanthropists Dr. Phillip and Patricia Frost’s momentous $33 million gift at the end of 2003, the Phillip and Patricia Frost School of Music at the University of Miami has picked up the tempo with a banner year for its 750 students and 110 faculty, who have received numerous awards and honors, hosted an international music conference and a six week-long music festival, and completion of a new music library and technology center.
Considered one of the top music schools nationally, the School plans to brand its success with a fresh logo celebrating its new name. The recently unveiled logo identifies the “Frost School of Music” in a crisp and elegant design that will grace all of the School’s print and electronic communications. Designed by the University of Miami’s Communication’s Design Studio, the logo features the Frost name in bold letters in the familiar UM green, which complements the University’s globally recognized logo.
The Frosts are well known throughout the community for their generous support of education and the arts. Dr. Frost is chairman and CEO of IVAX Corporation (IVX), a Miami-based, publicly traded, multinational pharmaceuticals company. Mrs. Frost is a retired educator who served for more than 20 years as principal of West Laboratory Elementary School located adjacent to UM’s Coral Gables campus.
