Larry Lapin, Professor and Program Director, Studio Music and Jazz/Vocal, has B.M. and M.M. degrees from the University of Miami, and conducts the UM Jazz Vocal Ensembles I, II, and III. A composer of numerous works for orchestra, band, and chorus, Lapin has published compositions and arrangements with Warner Brothers, Columbia, Lawson Gould, Plymouth, and Hansen Publications. Nationally known as a conductor, clinician, and adjudicator, Lapin is a member of the American Federation of Musicians American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP); Music Educators National Conference; International Association of Jazz Educators; American Choral Directors Association; and Florida Vocal Association. He is active as a pianist, conductor, arranger, and composer for motion pictures, radio and television, nightclubs, theaters, and concerts.
