The University of Miami Baroque Ensemble is the performing branch of the Introduction to Baroque Performance course offered at the Phillip and Patricia Frost School of Music. Students learn about performance practices of the era, including ornamentation and improvisation. The University of Miami Baroque Ensemble is committed to presenting works of the Baroque era in the manner in which they may have originally been heard. The ensemble performs exclusively on copies of original instruments of the Baroque period.

"My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the Baroque concert tonight. Your introductions to the instruments, baroque playing styles, the composers and your fellow musicians were a delight and helpful to us as listeners. Your performances were wonderful. Thanks for bringing this musical experience to us." - Ed Bell, WLRN
