Teresa Lesiuk
Teresa Lesiuk, assistant professor, music therapy, has joined the Phillip and Patricia Frost School of Music this Fall, 2005. Dr. Lesiuk completed her Ph.D., Systematic Musicology, University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, Canada in 2003; a Master of Music Therapy at Colorado State University; and a Master of Education and Bachelor of Music at University of Manitoba, Canada. Dr. Lesiuk has ten years’ experience of university teaching and program administration, collectively, from University of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio, Texas and the University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada. She has worked contractually as a music therapy clinician serving several client populations including elderly with dementia, elderly with psychiatric diagnosis, children with developmental delays, and adolescents with emotional-behavioral delays. Dr. Lesiuk’s research interests include investigating the role of music and music therapy in high stress occupations (e.g., air traffic control and computer information systems development). She has a strong passion for research and enjoys investigating responses to music in several work-life areas including burnout, stress, mood response, psychological reversals, and work performance.
