CD Collage James Progris

James Progris, Professor and Chair, Department of Music Media and Industry and Program Director, Music Business and Entertainment Industries, holds B.M. and M.M. degrees from the Boston Conservatory of Music. He has broad experience as a pianist, freelance arranger, and artist manager, and is a specialist in the legal and management aspects of the music and entertainment industries. He has planned, implemented, and participated in many music industry conferences as moderator and panelist. Progris has more than 100 music publications and has published with Hansen Publications; Warner Brothers Publications, Inc.; Berklee Press; and the University of Miami Music Press. He has served as chief executive officer for the Entertainment Management Institute, and as director of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences Institute. He is the founder and past national president of the Music and Entertainment Industry Educators Association.
