Christine Nield, Adjunct Assistant Professor (Flute), received her undergraduate degree from the North Carolina School of the Arts and pursued graduate studies in Germany with James Galway, as well as extensive study with Marcel Moyse. Nield has performed with Accademia Chigiana in Siena, Italy; the Cheltenham Festival; the Marlboro Music Festival; and the New England Bach Festival. She is principal flute with the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra and the Florida Grand Opera. She has recorded on the Audiophile label and is on the Advisory Council of the Mariel Moyse Society. She is a member of the National Flute Association and the Florida Flute Association, where she is a frequent performer and master class instructor.
