A national leader in the development of contemporary
programs that respond to the needs of the music professions, the
UM Frost School of Music was the first in the nation to offer professionally
accredited degrees in Music Industry and in Music Engineering Technology,
and among the first to offer degrees in Studio Music and Jazz, Music
Therapy, Musical Theatre, and Accompanying and Chamber Music.
Of equal importance are the School’s strong
traditional programs in performance, theory, composition, music
education, and musicology, which have produced a constant stream
of highly talented graduates who have made significant contributions
to the quality of musical life at local, state, national, and international
levels.
The Frost School now needs your help in transforming
the School’s complex and guiding it toward new heights, so
that its facilities match its high caliber people and programs.

In 2003, when Phillip and Patricia Frost announced their landmark
gift of $33 million to the University of Miami School of Music,
naming the school, it was one of the largest gifts the University
of Miami had received from an individual, and the largest gift ever
made to a university-based music school in the United States.
Major gifts, such as those received from the Frosts, the Weeks,
and many others, are transformational, providing the forward thrust
that’s needed to carry the School well into the future.

The Frost School of Music’s $60 million Momentum Campaign
