Facilities - L. Austin Weeks Computer Lab |
|
| Weeks Studio
|
The L. Austin
Weeks computer lab consists of eight Pentium computers and one Macintosh. The lab has
a variety of software packages installed, allowing the students to work on various
projects involving the analysis and editing of sound and music files, creating web pages,
designing loudspeakers and even digital video editing and sound effect creation.
Some of the computers are additionally set up to interface with digital signal processing
(DSP) evaluation boards and codecs so that students can write DSP programs and then
audition the results on live audio signals. All of the computers are equipped with
Sonic Foundry's Sound Forge and other audio programs. Several of the computers are
connected to the internet and the school intranet. This lab also serves as headquarters
for the Weeks studio staff.
