Joe Abbati is a lecturer in the Music Engineering Technology program. Before joining the faculty, he worked for several years as both a software and audio engineer, with particular expertise in the development of video games and interactive media. An expert in sound design, audio post, multimedia audio, interactive music and MIDI programming, he is proficient in several computer languages including C, C++ and Assembly. Joe has programmed and scored music and sound effects for over twenty computer games. His software experience runs the gamut from early DOS titles to PC-CD and Sony Playstation platforms. He works extensively as a freelance audio engineer for games as well as video/broadcast projects with clients such as Latin MTV, Awe Productions, THQ/Nickelodeon, NurEye Productions, Activision, N-Space, Gunnar Games, EyeStrain, Animation Factory and TeleOne Communications. Some of Joe's recent projects include: SpongeBob SquarePants: Employee of the Month, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, SpongeBob SquarePants: Operation Crabby Patty, HotWheels Mechanix Racing, MatchBox/Caterpillar Adventures in Time, Duke Nukem': Time to Kill and Activision Casino.
