
Colby Leider
is an assistant professor of music media and industry and teaches in the music
engineering technology program. Leider has a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical
engineering with a concentration in communication from The University of Texas
at Austin and a Master of Arts degree in electro-acoustic music from Dartmouth
College. He will complete the Doctor of Philosophy degree in music composition
from Princeton University in December 2002. He has prior teaching experience
at Florida International University. A composer, inventor, theorist, and consultant,
Leider has numerous publications in journals and his compositions have been
performed around the world. He is a holder of a provisional patent for a hand-held
device capable of distributing, routing, and spatializing an arbitrary number
of channels of digital audio into an arbitrary number of loudspeakers in real
time. He has also been a software consultant.
