Admission to the Music Engineering program is competitive.
Undergraduate students must successfully complete a music audition. Additionally,
competitive SAT/ACT scores are required (a minimum of approximately 1250
on the SAT or 28 on the ACT). Freshmen are expected to enroll in calculus,
which carries a prerequisite of trigonometry and analytic geometry. For
transfer students, completion of college level calculus is desirable.
Students who show promise but do not meet all of the academic requirements,
may be placed in another major. The Music Engineering program enjoys
a strong international reputation. Students from Australia, Austria, Brazil,
Canada, China, Colombia, France, Great Britain, India, Iran, Israel, Italy,
Jamaica, Mexico, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Venezuela,
Germany, and other countries have studied music engineering in Miami.
You must score satisfactorily on the TOEFL and meet other admission requirements
established by the Office of International Admissions.
