Music Engineering students participate in a wide variety of digital audio design projects. For example students have written assembly language programs for DSP processors from Analog Devices, Motorola, and Texas Instruments that perform audio signal processing such as pitch shifting, physical modeling of acoustic instruments, and digital audio effects processing. These types of skills are highly valued by employers, and in some cases, high-tech companies recruit enrolled students, seeking their employment after graduation. This is an example of why job placement from the program is quite strong among corporate employers. Even if your goal is to become a hands-on recording studio engineer, these skills are very valuable in today's computer-driven recording industry.
