The Music Engineering Faculty |

Our faculty has an
excellent reputation in the worlds of both academia and industry. They share a variety of backgrounds and expertise
with our students. Ken Pohlmann is the
director of the Music Engineering program. He has over 20 years of experience at the
University of Miami and is a well known author on digital audio. Frequently, he is called upon by corporations to
consult on both audio design and legal issues. He is complimented by two other full-time faculty
members, Colby Leider and Joe Abbati.
As a composer, inventor, theorist, and consultant, Colby Leider
has numerous publications in journals and his compositions have been
performed around the world. Joe
Abbati adds his knowledge and experience in video systems, audio/video production and
gaming systems. Both have wide experience in
composition, recording, software, and
audio design industry; in addition, both are practicing musicians. The facultys expertise allows our curriculum and research to
explore almost any area of audio or video technology and music recording. Paul Griffith is the director of Recording
Services for the Frost School of Music.
He has a depth of knowledge and experience in sound recording.
In his position he often interfaces with the faculty and students
throughout the Frost School of Music for their recording needs.
In his experiences, he has recorded many performances for compact
disc (CD) and broadcast.
