The Music Engineering Faculty
Joe Abbati is a lecturer in the Music Engineering Technology program. Before joining the faculty, he worked for several years as both a software and audio engineer, with particular expertise in the development of video games and interactive media. An expert in sound design, audio postproduction, multimedia audio, interactive music and MIDI programming, he is proficient in several computer languages including C, C++ and Assembly. Joe has programmed, written music and designed sound effects for over 25 published computer games. His software experience runs the gamut from early DOS titles to PC/CD and Sony PlayStation platforms. He still works extensively as a freelance audio engineer for games as well as video/broadcast projects with clients such as Activision, Animation Factory, Awe Productions, EyeStrain, Gunnar Games, Latin MTV, MasterMedia, N-Space, NurEye Productions, THQ/Nickelodeon, TeleOne Communications and 7th Circuit Productions.
