Registration and fees
How to apply

Each applicant should submit the following on or before March 1, 2008:
• A completed application form (download here)
• A cassette or CD recording to include the following:
• Singers: A minimum of three contrasting art songs in two or more languages, and one or more opera or oratorio arias.
• Pianists: A minimum of three accompaniments with singer in contrasting styles and one solo piece.
  Accompaniments must be recorded live and without interruption.
• A brief statement of recommendation from your present or most recent teacher.


Please note: Due to the popularity of the program, the University of Miami regrets that it must cap enrollment for summer 2008.  A maximum of 42 singers and 12 pianists will be accepted. 

Deposit

Students accepted into the program will need to submit 2 NON-REFUNDABLE deposits of:

 $600 on or before April 1, 2008

 $600 on or before May 1, 2008 in order to guarantee housing reservations and ground transportation.

 Balance is due in June 1, 2008.
 

Program Cost: $5,350.00

        $3,800.00    Tuition (Lessons, coachings, master classes, academic credits, etc.)

        $1,550.00    (Housing, Tours, Meals-breakfasts, lunches, )

The program cost is all inclusive with the exception of airfare and spending money. All additional program costs are covered in the program price, from ground transportation to room and board, tuition for seven (five) university credits, special event fees, tickets to the Salzburg Festival, and use of practice facilities. However, those who choose to stay in pension housing will be responsible for their evening and weekend meals. Limited scholarships may be available. Personal expenses such as passport fees, textbooks, local transportation, and other items are not included. Auditors pay full fee.
 

Responsibility

The University of Miami or its agents assume no responsibility or liability in connection with the service of any train, vessel, carriage, aircraft, motor, or any other conveyance which may be used wholly or in part in the performance of its duty to participants. Neither will it be responsible for any act, error, or omission, or for any injury, loss, accident, delay, or irregularity that may be occasioned by reason of any defect in any vehicle, or through negligence or default of any company or person engaged in conveying the participants; or, for any hotel, proprietor, or hotel service, or for any other person, engaged in carrying out any services in connection with this program.

In the event it becomes necessary or advisable for the comfort and well-being of the participants, or for any reason whatever, to alter the itinerary or arrangements, such alterations may be made without penalty to the operators. Additional expenses, if any, shall be borne by the participants. The right is reserved to withdraw any or all classes or events should conditions warrant, also to decline to accept or retain any participants as members of the program. All prices quoted in this brochure are based on international rates of exchange and tariffs in effect September 1, 2008, and are subject to change at any time.
