Choral Day Camp, with its tradition of excellence, offers a comprehensive choral experience for elementary school singers. Enjoyable activities highlight music theory, songs in a variety of styles, and vocal technique.

A culminating performance given on Friday evening highlights the accomplishments of the week.

Send your young musician to Summer Guitar Camp, sponsored by the University of Miami and Ellis Family Music for middle and high school students, and members of the 2006 high school graduating class.  The camp gives students the opportunity to experience music of all styles, including jazz, classical, and rock.  Each student participates in ensembles and master classes.  Class topics include instrumental techniques, music reading, improvisation, and theory.  Drum set, bass guitar, and keyboard are also included in the camp.

The University of Miami presents a full-time music camp for students ages 7 – 18.  Now in its seventh year, the Young Musicians’ Camp offers junior, intermediate, pre-college, and honors programs in piano, strings, winds, percussion, vocal, guitar, and jazz.  In addition to orchestra, band, and vocal ensemble,  the camp offers classes in composition, chamber music, small jazz group, improvisation, jazz vocal, music theory, songwriting, jazz, rock, or classical styles, midi, recording techniques, musical theater, movement, and drumming.  Bus transportation from Broward, North Miami, and Miami Beach, as well as a teen dorm ( Monday – Friday or full-time) is available.  The deadline for scholarship applications is April 15. UM MUSICTIME SUMMER CAMP

Fee: $250/1 week; $400/2 weeks (Includes nonrefundable $50 deposit to reserve a place).

 

Bring your pre-K and kindergarten children closer in touch with nature through music, art, movement, and special activities.  The University’s arboretum and Lake Osceola provide a perfect observation of plant and bird life.  Snacks are provided daily at 10:30 a.m. Children may attend one week or both weeks.  Fees cover a music CD, a book, art, and incidental supplies for all activities.
