The University of Miami presents a full-time music camp for students ages 7 – 18. Now in its seventh year, the Young Musicians’ Camp offers junior, intermediate, pre-college, and honors programs in piano, strings, winds, percussion, vocal, guitar, and jazz. In addition to orchestra, band, and vocal ensemble, the camp offers classes in composition, chamber music, small jazz group, improvisation, jazz vocal, music theory, songwriting, jazz, rock, or classical styles, midi, recording techniques, musical theatre, movement, and drumming. Bus transportation from Broward, North Miami, and Miami Beach, as well as a teen dorm (Monday – Friday or full-time) is available. The deadline for scholarship applications is April 15. A community service program for high-school age participants is also available.
